In Plain English

Think of Argireline as a key that fits partially into a lock; Snap-8 is a longer, more complete key for the same lock. The "lock" is a protein complex your nerves use to release signals that cause muscles to contract — the better fit means greater muscle relaxation and smoother expression lines.

Overview

Snap-8 (Acetyl Octapeptide-3) is an extension of the Argireline (Acetyl Hexapeptide-3) sequence, adding two additional amino acids to the N-terminal portion of SNAP-25. This broader SNARE-inhibitory domain is reported to produce greater reduction in muscle contraction vs Argireline at equivalent concentrations. It is used in cosmetic formulations targeting forehead lines, crow's feet, and other expression-related wrinkles. Like Argireline, it is topically applied and does not produce systemic neuromuscular effects.
